Got Land?
A BHI Land Clearinghouse Campaign
This is 1DROP with BHI.
You submit the land. You choose what you want. You get a land report. You publish on your terms.
Intake, evaluation, and initial matching cost nothing.
Right past wrongs. Sell, partner, lease, or build with a Black or mission aligned developer. Build more affordable and workforce for sale housing.
The owner path
This is the path for people with land.
Prefer to talk it through? A Western Washington Realtist can walk with you.
Talk with a RealtistSend the parcel in. An address or APN helps if you have one. Submitting does not publish it.
Start with the formYou choose how you are interested in moving, and what you want from the land. You can change your mind.
You get a land report. Read it before you decide what happens next.
You choose to publish to interested developers. On your terms. Nothing goes out until you say yes.
Publish for developersDevelopers who opted in can see it for 60 days. That window is visibility. It is not a closed deal.
We connect the developers who are interested. Then we step back. A connection is an introduction.
Want more time? An extension is optional. You decide.
Why this exists
Black Home Initiative is a network of public, private, and nonprofit partners. The purpose is social justice: more homes, support for buyers, and fewer barriers. The aim already set is 1,500 foundational Black homeowners by 2028 and 3,000 by 2033. This campaign puts land with Black and mission aligned developers who build those homes.
blackhomeinitiative.org1. Submit your land
Start with the address. Then a short walk: who owns it, what you want, and what happens next. Intake, evaluation, and initial matching cost nothing. We reply within 1 to 2 business days. This form is for landowners.
2. Choose what you want
This is step 2. You choose how you are interested in moving. You do not have to lock it on day one.
Sell to Black and mission aligned developers in this network. Price and contract terms sit between you and that developer, with advisors you choose.
Build together. We can make the introduction. We do not write the agreement.
Keep the land. Lease it for housing. We explain the idea in plain words. Your counsel handles the lease.
Stay put and add a home: an ADU, DADU, cottage, or multiplex. That path goes to Resource Equity. We come back if you need a builder introduction.
Give the land. You still choose the terms, with advisors you pick.
Ask the questions, then pause. “Not ready” is a full answer. You can also ask to come off active outreach.
4. Publish on your terms
You get a land report first. Then you choose to publish, on your terms. Developers who opted in have 60 days of visibility. We connect the ones who are interested. An extension is optional. They review it under Opportunities → Land. This page does not publish the listing until you say yes.
Submit your Land firstBlack and mission aligned developers opt in on purpose. That opt-in is separate from 1DROP membership and from being a BHI developer. You sign a participation agreement. Parcels show up under Opportunities → Land after the owner says yes. Portal login is not that agreement.
A Realtist here is a REALTOR® in the Realtist network.
Talk with a RealtistEmail landcampaign@bhi.com. Churches, community groups, and Realtists can send owners here. There is no referral fee. The owner still decides each step. Their details stay with us until they agree to share them.

You choose to publish on your terms. Developers who opted in have 60 days of visibility. We connect the ones who are interested. An extension is optional. A connection is an introduction, not a closed deal. If more than one developer wants in, staff recommend a fit and say why in plain language. Scores stay internal.
Say so. Stay-and-add goes to Resource Equity. It is not a standard developer listing. We can line up a builder introduction later if you want one.
Open the member portal to browse Opportunities → Land or to sign in. Clearinghouse opt-in is a separate participation agreement and capacity profile. It is not the same as 1DROP membership or being a BHI developer. Questions about the packet go to the campaign inbox.
Yes. There is no referral fee. Share this page or email the campaign inbox. Include an owner’s details only with their permission. They still have to agree before anything reaches a developer.
When a developer and a landowner have been introduced and both say they want to move forward. Then we check in. We do not run the deal.
Another question goes straight to landcampaign@bhi.com.
Scope of service
We take land in. We screen it. We post consented parcels for developers who opted in.
Trust and privacy
No landowner information leaves the Clearinghouse without the landowner's consent.
You can stop after you submit. Pause whenever you want.
A post and a partner handoff wait for a clear yes. Until then, the notes stay with the Clearinghouse team.
Email the campaign inbox to pause or pull your information out of active follow-up.
The form takes in the parcel. It lands in Knowledge DROP, under Opportunities → Land, only after it is campaign-ready and you have consented. We do not publish it here.
About
BHI is a network of public, private, and nonprofit partners closing the racial homeownership gap. More homes. Support for buyers. Fewer barriers. The Land Clearinghouse is how land gets found, understood, and handed to developers who build those homes.
blackhomeinitiative.org1DROP runs the Clearinghouse with BHI. Intake, the basic screen, and the introductions go through that team.
This work is supported through Civic Commons and the Seattle Foundation.
